We manufacture and distribute premium replacement parts for our customers in the automotive aftermarket while we provide customizable solutions for vehicle control and thermal management categories in diversified end markets represented by our Engineered Solutions segment.

SMP’s products are used in the maintenance, service and repair of vehicles.

A Full-Line, Full-Service Supplier

In the aftermarket, SMP’s products are used in the maintenance, service and repair of vehicles, and are largely non-discretionary in nature. In our non-aftermarket business, we are a supplier of custom-engineered products for on- and off-highway applications. SMP focuses on providing our customers with premium quality products and coverage; supported by a full suite of complementary services that are tailored to our customers’ business needs, while driving end-user demand for our products.

Our Customer Base

Program distribution groups, warehouse distributors and major retailers make up our traditional aftermarket base. Customers buy directly from us and distribute to their own outlets, jobber stores, professional shops and technicians, and “do-it-yourselfers”. For the Engineered Solutions end-markets, we sell our products to manufacturers of vehicles and equipment, as well as their tier suppliers and system integrators.

Automotive Aftermarket

Our Vehicle Control and Temperature Control divisions deliver 80,000 parts for import and domestic vehicles, covering all vehicle platforms including gas, diesel, and the latest hybrid and electric vehicle systems.

Vehicle Control

This segment manufactures and distributes a full line of critical components for import and domestic vehicles across three subcategories: Ignition, Emissions & Fuel which includes internal combustion engine (ICE) related products; Wire Sets & Other; and Electrical & Safety which covers powertrain-neutral vehicle technologies, safety-related products, and other advanced driver assistance parts. Vehicle Control features more than 165 powertrain-neutral categories suitable for all platforms including the latest hybrid-electric and electric vehicles.

Temperature Control

Our Temperature Control Division benefits from the broader adoption of more complex AC systems and offers products across two subcategories: AC System Components, which includes compressors, connecting lines, heat exchangers and expansion devices; and Other Thermal Components, comprised of parts that provide engine, transmission, electric drive motor, and battery temperature management.

Engineered Solutions offers a wide range of custom-designed products to vehicle and equipment manufacturers across diverse global end markets, including both on-highway and off-highway applications

SMP Engineered Solutions is the premier provider of customizable solutions for non-aftermarket vehicle control and thermal management products. Our extensive portfolio of adaptable products covers an expanding range of applications including superior quality parts delivered through our Trombetta^® and Stabil^® brands.

Supported by a global resource network, Engineered Solutions is strategically positioned to provide unique solutions to a wide-range customer base. We serve the On-Highway channel, specifically the Commercial and Niche Light Vehicle markets; and the Off-Highway channel – Hydraulics & Industrial, Outdoor Power Equipment, Powersports, and Agriculture & Construction.
