SMP Design Helps Lower Harmful Diesel Particulates In an effort to meet the new EPA diesel particulate emission requirements, SMP has re-engineered a regular gasoline fuel injector for use in a diesel application. This injector, manufactured in our SMP facility in Greenville, SC, is engineered to spray diesel fuel into the exhaust particulate filter to initiate a burn-off cycle. This will reduce the carcinogenic particulates that are commonly found in diesel engine exhaust. Through ingenious re-engineering of existing technology, SMP has answered the diesel market’s unique challenge and has contributed to helping lower air pollution in the process.
